Litle Planet began in 2011 with a simple idea: every child deserves a place that feels like home. Safe, warm, and full of wonder. Today, 15 years later, that idea is the heartbeat of our family-run home daycare in Chicago.
A family that grew from one dream
It started with a single family. Sandra Roa, a passionate educator with a deep belief that the early years of a child’s life are the most precious, opened her home in Chicago’s Northwest Side in 2011. Her goal was simple but powerful: give working families a place where their children could truly thrive.
Word spread naturally — not through advertising, but through the smiles children brought home and the peace parents felt leaving for work each morning. Family by family, Litle Planet became a cornerstone of the community. Fifteen years later, that same warmth and intention live in every song we sing, every meal we cook, and every story we share.

With a background in early childhood education and a natural gift for nurturing, Sandra built Litle Planet on a foundation of values: gratitude, love, honesty, and curiosity. She leads a small team of dedicated educators who share her vision that every child deserves to feel safe, celebrated, and challenged to grow.
Sandra is also a mother, a reader, a singer, and an eternal optimist. She believes bilingual education is one of the greatest gifts a family can give — and she makes sure every child at Litle Planet receives it every single day.
